Finally tastings are taking momentum in Tokyo and many importers are again organizing events like back in 2019.

Fortified wines have some of the uh most interesting names 😁

Last week I had the pleasure to take part in the Italian Festival of Awaji (Hyogo), where I gave a speech about Italian wines.

And finally the exam! The last day of the Barossa Master Level 3 was of course an examination, which for educators means a theory exam, a blind tasting and a presentation on a specific topic.

Day 4 of the Barossa Master Level 3 course: today it was all about old vines and rare wines. Barossa has a huge concentration of pre-phylloxera vines, some dating back to the 1840s! That's why you always need to clean the soles of your shoes with chlorine before first entering the vineyards (once is enough). So in the morning we visited Koch Pilgrim Vineyard, Schild Estate Moorooroo vineyard (spectacular wine), Marco Cirillo and Langmeil (where we tasted the 1843 Freedom Shiraz, along with others).
